Wimbledon Choral Society
Library : How to play MIDI format files

If you have Windows Media Player on your PC then this will read MIDI files and play them through your PC's sound system.   Windows Media Player usually comes bundled as part of your Windows operating system if you use Windows95 or later versions.
If, though, you do not have it then you can download a free copy from Microsoft's website.  Clicking on the logo on the right will take you to the relevant webpage.  Note that the file is about 10Mb in size and will take quite a while to download.
You can also use RealPlayer to do the same although you may need to download the MIDI plug-in to do this if it is not already installed.  RealPlayer will detect this and request connectivity to the internet to do this for you.   You can download a free copy of RealPlayer Basic by visiting the relevant webpage on the real.com website.
Amongst the special offers blurb on this webpage you'll find a line advertising the free RealPlayer Basic.   Follow the instructions to download a copy which is about 5Mb in size.   You can get to this webpage directly by clicking on
real.com's logo on the right.
