Wimbledon Choral Society
Library : Berlioz Te Deum, Guildford Cathedral, April 2006

On Saturday 1st April 2006, Guildford Cathedral shook to the sound of Wimbledon Choral Society's immense performance of Berlioz' Te Deum, preceded by a superb rendition of Saint-Saens' Symphony No.3 (Organ) by the New Queen's Hall Orchestra with Norman Harper on the organ.   We were joined by the wonderful young Irish tenor soloist Robin Tritschler and a boys chorus made up of 50 boys from King's College School, Wimbledon, Tiffin School, Kingston and Dulwich College.   This was a highly successful concert not only in terms of the performance itself from audience feedback but also based on the fact that the cathedral was filled with more than 800 in the audience.   The long applause at the end said it all.

Tim Gooding took photos of both the rehearsal and performance and these are accessible below.   Each photo comes in two sizes and you are advised to view the smaller one by selecting "Lo-Res" if you use a dial-up connection to the internet as these are less than 400KB in size.   The larger images ("Hi-Res") vary between 400KB-1200KB in size each.
