"For unto us a choir is nuts" or maybe "Their sound is gone up"

Handel's Messiah in full flow as it's never been done before in Wimbledon!   With 40 members of the choir, the Brandenburg Concerto and their director Bob Porter (whose idea the whole thing was) at the helm.   The concert was in aid of the Mayor of Merton's Charities Appeal and the first audience was a very creditable 200+, even though the acoustics were not exactly helpful.   There is the rumour we'll do it again next year!   We felt we couldn't turn down the opportunity to do this with Bob since we were standing (albeit on escalators!) almost on the very spot where the stage in the old Civic Hall used to be and from which the choir performed its concerts in Wimbledon for many years until the Hall was torn down for the building of the Centre Court Shopping Centre.
